Byrkjedalstunet Drift AsHotel [ ]Dirdal (Dirdal), Byrkjedal![]()
The Byrkjedalstunet hotel is drenched in history, offers dramatic scenic views, interesting architecture and the opportunity to reside in a reproduction of an 18th century farmstead.
The hotel is housed in a reconstructed cheese factory that still displays many traditional cheese making instruments. Much of the Old Norwegian history has been well preserved and the rooms include four poster beds and beautiful views. Situated among some of Rogaland’s most spectacular landscapes, including mountains and fjords, the hotel provides the perfect opportunity to explore the great outdoors; such as the beautiful beaches of Jæren. Randalstølen is a reproduction of a traditional 19th century mountain dairy farm and these log cabins, with their turfed rooves, wooden tables and benches are draped with sheepskins. Food and drink is then served on wooden plates and in wooden mugs. From old fashioned farmhouse fare to more exotic culinary delights, the restaurant is well known for its variety and wonderfully warm atmosphere. The chefs select their ingredients from local suppliers such as the free range Hereford cattle. |
